Sacrificing Hapiness for a better self and life

What you lose by sacrificing, but gaining more in return

Becoming a better version of yourself

Gaining more in life by sacrificing happiness!

My doze of happiness
I don't believe that we are, what we are! I also don't believe that you can get all the best things in life at once. What I do believe is that, by sacrificing we can be better and we can have the best things in life. Some people may not agree with me, but I do  believe that by sacrificing early in life, later on, things wouldn't be so hard at all.

Everyday, is a  struggle to live and everyday is a blessing to share and to fulfill. I am now again in a mood to write some stories of my life.

As I turned 30, I realize how much I gain (literally) and loose, it was a self defeating habits and I realize that the more I sacrificed and faced the pain of change, the more I learn and the more I gain afterwards.

My everyday living is mundane and can be too boring for others, but the mental, physical and emotional challenge that I face is what I learned that I can be something far greater than what I am yesterday. I can become my thoughts and emotions, that is why I learned to sacrifice little things so that it can become big things in the future. (Don't blame me on smoking, neither of us don't know how to quit easily.)

As I end my blog in gaining more by sacrificing, I would like to share that all the pain that I have felt and that is in my heart, I offer only to the souls in purgatory. Why? Because I do believe that the little sacrifices that we made each day would uplift them and would help them to ease the pain. May our little sacrifices help them to be with our creator and in the end, may they all be with us.

I gained more in life because I felt the pain of what it is to be nothing, and what it is to be so different from the others that they wouldn't understand the pain inside. Let it help us to be kind, gentle and brave to accept things that we cannot change or to accept things that is meant for use.

WE ARE ALL BUILT TO FULFILL A DESTINY- B.G

Asking Forgiveness

Over coming heart ache from the past through forgiveness

Forgiving myself and others through time

As a child, I have been afraid and has a very low self worth. I had made mistakes in my life that I only truly understand when I was a young adult. I had hurt many people unintentionally and I am too arrogant to  face myself. In fact, I am not like other people who had found their selves early in life. I only started making peace with myself when I was 25. It took me a long time to accept who I really am inside; It took me a lot of time to accept what I truly feel inside, and honestly, finding yourself the hard way hurts like hell.

I am not the popular kid on the block, I am just an average person who thrives to be a better person everyday. When I was much younger, I was always afraid to show my feelings not because of being rejected, but because of the feeling that I will always be inadequate to the other person. I didn't realize that my self worth is low when I was young. All of the traumas, experiences and heartaches made me to be emotionally distant. It was my comfort zone.

I always fell for someone that I wouldn't have a heart to be closed with. I wouldn't even try to keep an on-going relationship, because I believe the pain would be so much, if they are the ones who would first leave me.. I didn't see and believe that I would be worthy as part of their lives. I am foolish to leave or not to try. I believe that in some ways, I still carry it but I am asking forgiveness everyday so that my wounds would not go on and hurt others.

"Time is inevitable" is the phrase I carry out in my heart. I love this phrase because time heals all wounds and reveals the right answers in its perfect time. No one can stop time to unfold and unravel life's mysteries. If things come too early in my life, there are many things that I would miss out and not understand. There are many experiences that would not happen and there are many people that would not be with me today. I would be different and life may have shown me a different path. BUT, given a chance to repeat or alter what happened in my life, I know I would not change it nor would I want to repeat it. I may have some regrets but it was all part of me, not yet forgiving myself.

I am writing this blog because I am asking forgiveness to others and for myself. I am writing about this topic because I want to share with you that by asking forgiveness, you too can have a 360 degrees perspective about life. Lastly, I am writing this blog because I wanted to have a peace in my heart in time.

I am truly sorry for not becoming a better person or not over coming or facing myself.
I now tell you, You have been part of my life and an inspiration.

As you read this blog, let us all ask forgiveness from others and through ourselves.

Handling Confidence and Fear on New Grounds

Emotions are things you must not ignore

Being Bold is to overcome emotions like confidence and fear

"Either you became confident and ignorant or afraid and deadbeat, don't!"

There are types of people when settling in new grounds, it is either they are fearless and confident or afraid and shy. I have seen these kinds of people and I often assess myself, where I belong. It seems that people are born to feel these kinds of emotions and yet there is no schooling to teach you, how you should face new grounds and challenges.

Having fear is normal, it is a feeling you came across when you have uncertainty. But, always remember that fear on the new grounds is not good. Fear often takes hold of a person, it makes one weak and it makes becoming true to yourself, sometimes impossible. Fear is a prisoner where you are placed in a shell, holding you back. Overcoming it, is possible by knowing the new ground or challenges. If you are this type of person, you must take an effort to know more about the new territory and new challenge you have to face. You must learn to trust and know more about yourself. Too much can lead you to devastation and failure in coping up on new grounds of life.

On the other hand, being confident on new grounds can sometimes lead you to being ignorant. Confidence is important, but too much and not knowing where you stand on the new ground, makes you a fool. It is those people who assume and know so little about the new grounds that they take charge and bathe to their new found territory.

Being bold to new challenges while adjusting is the best way to handle these kind of emotions. Be brave enough to face the new grounds. Understand, assess and determine where you really belong. It is like having a new found friend; you get to know them, you hold back a little, but at the same time you share and give in to understand if the relationship is worth keeping.

It is said, a person takes time to adjust to new things. New grounds can be an overwhelming experience that pushes us back or move us forward. We sometimes already have an attitude to handle such pleasure or distress coming from new grounds and experiences. Our feelings towards it determines, whether we will continue or not the new experience we felt. If we are wiser to consider and assess what really happened, I believe every new ground that we will experience will be worth keeping. We just have to be bold enough to face reality.

As I continue to experience new grounds to help me grow, I hope you’ll have fun as much as I do.

Things I do as I move forward in life

Moving Forward in Life

Things worth remembering in life as you are nearing 30

Late 20's view in life in moving forward.

As a person nearing my 30's, there are many things in life that I wished I knew when I am still much younger. It is not to say, that I or the people nearing 30's have regrets about life- though I have some. It is just a realization as we grow much older and wiser. As some may say, "you can only understand life backwards, but you must live life moving forward".

Today, I can say that I have wasted a lot of years in my life. It was also the same reason why I am, what I am and writing this blog today. Many may tend to disagree but trials, pain and suffering would change a person to become a better version of themselves. I have felt the pits of darkness and pain, It is a burden and experience that I have carried. It is something that I don't want anyone to experience and It is something that I want everyone to avoid. Don't ever risk losing yourself!

Here are some things worth remembering:

  1. Have a mentor- As you grow older, your priorities tend to grow. There are many aspects of your life you tend to ignore, not realizing it is much important as the others. We can never be an expert in every field, even though some of us tried. Learn from the experts and grab the opportunity as much as you can to learn from them.
  2. Learn everyday- Always try to learn new things. As you grow older, there are many aspects of your life you need to learn and understand. Never stop learning because it never stopped when you graduated from college. Always remind yourself to be equipped with knowledge.
  3. Know yourself- As things change every day, so are you. If you don’t know yourself, you can be drifted away like a wood, not knowing where you stand. The years wasted in my life are the chances that I haven’t got peace with myself. Knowing yourself early in your life makes you much wiser. Those people who have many regrets are people who often don’t know themselves.
  4. Seize Opportunities- Don’t wait for an opportunity. Create and seize it with confidence. Opportunities always knock and if you don’t know how to handle it, it may pass by without you even knowing it. Remember, every day is an opportunity given. Use it well!
  5. Learn to Let Go- Most of us don't realize that the only way to recover is to let go and forgive. Don't be hard on your mistakes or on the world. Everything has a purpose and you will see the reasons as time pass by. It may be hard and hurting today but it will pass, just learn to forgive and accept. Answers will be delivered in its perfect time.
  6. Take Care of Relationships- Not all people are meant to stay in your life. Some are just passing by, to teach, to hurt and to help you grow. Make sure that the one’s that are meant to stay are nurtured and growing up with you. Make an effort to let them know that they are important. Treat them well!
  7. Live Everyday- Everyday is a blessing. Make sure that you always live your life. Growing up is not easy, but it doesn’t mean you have to sulk away and beat yourself to death, just by trying to live. Make things simple and enjoy your life. Have a breather!
Move forward with life and be optimistic. Don’t ever lose yourself and be stuck because life is the greatest miracle, anyone can give you. It is a blessing and a curse, if you don’t know how to be prepared

As I move forward with life, I hope you also do it.

Sweets and Suffering- Hand by hand- Tips to Overcome Difficulties

Hungry Taz...
Sweets are a true pleasure and a fun time for me. It keeps my energy boosted and my moods to be happy... I guess it is safe to say that there is something about it that that makes me smile.

I can recall great  memories about cupcakes and sweets, when I was much younger than I am now. These energy boosters help me to go on and on in some routine tasks that I had at our house.
Cleaning, polishing and other tasks at home was boring before but i got through it because of the sweets and rewards... When I was much younger, I thought I am being punished and it is a suffering, but now it is much different on how I perceive sweet rewards and suffering.

Now, I believe that suffering can only be possible if you let them to be, and sweet rewards are just things that you enjoy for a time. If people would ask me about my suffering, the lists would go on and on, while for rewards I can only think of a few. Maybe that is why they say that pain is a pleasure you just didn't get along.

I don't know why I can't remember so many things about rewards. Maybe the reason of it is because, I have taken for granted the small rewards in my life. Sometimes, rewards became meaningless, if it was being taken for granted-- It is the same for suffering, it can be no longer a suffering once, one got used to it.

For this reasons, I want to share some tips to overcome suffering or difficulties in life.

1. You are not defeated, though it may be you think you are
2. By the help of God you can overcome difficulties and live a vital and victorious life. Never settle for less. When the full strength potential within you is mustered, you have sufficient power to deal with any difficulty.
3. Think Big, and powerful forces are released
4. Believe Big; faith and effort generate dynamic creative power
5. Pray Big; God will grant big things if you ask for them and are big enough to receive them.
6. Act Big; only the biggest plans are easy.

Boxing is Fun- A tip to beat the blues

Who say's working out must be tiring and boring??? My way of having fun is through, Boxing my way out on stress. It's simply enjoyable and energizing, once your body gets in tuned with all the jab and punches that you can throw.

I just started again to enroll at Energy Revive beside Pure Gold, San Pablo City and I can feel my old self regaining my health and positivism in life. It is one of my medications to beat the blues away. I box 3- 4 times a week and I spent 3 hours a day at the gym-- I make sure all will be worth it.

I love doing their program because I really sweat and I can take many rounds on heavy bags, enbowl, mitts and other boxing equipments. Instructors are very nice and supportive-- because of it I am finally throwing good punches and jabs. I really recommend boxing because all of your lower and upper body parts are working. Stamina is very vital and I can feel myself having more every time I go out for another session.

Here are some tips to take the blues away just as I found boxing, writing, drinking coffee and hanging out with friends my way to stay a tuned with myself.

10 TIPS TO BEAT THE BLUES AWAY!
1. Having a good cry- It is therapeutic to vent emotions by giving way to grief and accepting comfort from others.
2. Be good to yourself- Know your limits and happiness by practicing and knowing it everyday makes one blues away.
3. In despite of everything you feel down and can't shake the blues away; have time for yourself or bond with others. It's either you need a break from yourself or you need someone to turn to.
4. Realize you are not alone- Even yourself must accept that whatever you are going through there are always people around you to help.
5. Plan a course of action- Try to solve your problems and follow necessary steps till you improved.

Self Control is my part of Gambling for Fun

I had my own share of experiences where I found gambling a new way to have some fun and excitement. It is not everyday that I play this kind of game but my heart pounds with excitement while playing different kinds of gambling game.

I can be usually seen playing gambling at the PAGCOR Tagaytay, Resorts World Casino or at the St. Joseph Compound. I have a set of friends where we find gambling for fun and sometimes a source of income to have our wallets supplied with money.

There are few games that I play: Baccarat, Pontoon, Sic-Bo, Casino Wars, Tong- its and In- Between. I find Pontoon and Baccarat the most enjoyable of all. Luck, patterns and cleverness while playing this kind of games is the most vital essentials. You must never underestimate or over estimate the cards for chances are you can end up loosing a lot of money.

Most of the time I gamble, I only call it quits. I seldom loose a lot of money but I have an experience where I loose an amount as much as Php 10,000 (I'm just a small player at gambling) . It was a bad experience and as I recall it was the end of the habit of betting large amounts. I now only play Php1,000- 2,000 and don't go any further with that amount for self control is taking over me.

WARNING: Gambling can be addicting

Self Control is the thing that one can learn from gambling. One must know when to stop so you won't loose to much in playing. In my own terms of self control in gambling, I do have one but in other things relating to self control I find myself loosing myself. I don't have much of it in my system.... It is a habit that I want to learn more. It is something one must practice in areas where you find yourself tempted.

As I understand my self control, I sometimes seek where I lack and where I excel. My self control often arise when I feel too much excitement and too much tiredness. It is an extreme of everything. It is something one must practice and balance. It is either you eliminate that kind of habit you can't control or you practice yourself with it.

One must know what kind of self- control they have in different situations. Experience and events can teach a lot of things to know what kind of control you have. Always believe that you have one and you can manage yourself in every situation because part of self- control is loosing fun and having fun. Just remember that self control is not just by not loosing yourself it is sometimes define as knowing your self more of how in control you can be in every situation.

As I believe, Always have fun because part of living is loosing your self but having control over it.

A Mind for Excellence

As I watch and stare at my computer, memories of what happened before came through me. I am indeed living in a world where not much is expressed and felt. For years, my depression struck me so hard that I no longer know how to live on. I tried many simple things and ways to make me whole, but at some point, I had failed over and over again.

I lost myself so many times, that I no longer know what I am living for. I had lost interest in life and in many things that one would enjoy, before everything happened. My relation ties with friends, families and relatives whither. It is something, I wouldn't wish to anyone. I started gaining weight and as time pass by, my attention span is no longer like before. I no longer see myself doing so many things.

My blog entry is all about transforming myself and letting go to the higher power within me.

First, I want to share the books I read which transformed me at peace- Living the Truth and The Four Agreements. These are my self help books that changed my perception after some time. It gave me a grasp of my own reality to live on again and to who I really am all these years.

Secondly, my old habit of drinking too much died when I got my depression. It was the rule that I have to avoid that is why coffee (my ally) had been one of the most addicting things I enjoy. Besides coffee, I'm now developing a new habit, and I called  it excellence. As I see it, Excellence must be a passion- a key to the ultimate things that you want to sustain and achieve. A key to the higher person inside of ourselves, A key to the natural things that one can master, and it is the striving force to be the best that we can be.

Lastly, I want to share some points of The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz.

The Four Agreements:
                                        ·         Be Impeccable with your word
                                        ·         Don’t take anything personally
                                        ·         Don’t make assumptions
                                        ·         Always do your best

I had been striving all this time for the new insights and experience that I am encountering everyday. I am living my life with each blessing and it is an eye opener experience, one could get. For me, living one step at a time and reaching your dreams to the farthest possible you can imagine, makes me closer to where I want to be and where I would be.

"TAKING ONE STEP AT A TIME & KEEP MOVING FORWARD EVERYDAY"

REMEMBER: Have Passion for Excellence

My Coffee History

There are many ways to have that space and time that you needed. Often, we don't have them everyday because of the many things that goes in our heads. Sometimes it turns out to be a simple laugh or cry that would dry all your tears or stress away. I have been in down turn and return over the past years but it was the most memorable time of my life. It was the space and time I needed to find myself all over again and coffee have been my ally and friend.

My coffee history is no different from others but what made it special is the way I use to drink it and the way I share my time with people. Coffee as it is have been an ally for me every morning. It refresh my senses and it helps me to be energized and awake all day. I usually love to drink it alone but given a chance that a friend would invite me for a cup of coffee, my heart pounds with excitement for I love how I connect with people with one of my favorite drinks.

Connecting my coffee experience with my life is the reason why I wanted to share my coffee history. Coffee, as I take it every morning would be usually black. I love it to be bitter (sometimes sweet) and a little bit hot--- I want it plain and straight. I want to surprise myself sometimes on how hot it could be that it burns my tongue that I almost forget what time it is--- I often forget the world and start to have my own time and space. Coffee and life for me is to be simple,plain and as it boils down to the core it shows its true color and taste.

THATS HOW LIFE IS TO ME!

A New Way To Barter Great Products

Bartering goods and services has been around for so long. I can still remember my 3rd grade history class teacher mentioning to the class that bartering is once identified as a means of getting goods and services. It became the livelihood of early people because there are no currencies before for payments. My teacher even said to the class that bartering originated in china. They are traveling around the globe to offer their exquisite products and in return they get spices and other products to neighboring countries. Value of a product is not yet a determinant factor. I can only conclude that it could have been such a hard time for other people bartering their best goods for unprofitable products that they still need. I can imagine them, feeling tricked and cheated for getting an amount not sufficed to the product that they bartered.

Nowadays, bartering is not so popular as they used to be in ancient times. Though it is being practiced by some people, many haven't got an idea how advantage and good it still can be. Bartering or exchanging of goods and service can be an advantage to people who collects things or who find themselves having good products but no use to it at all. People who are interested to get their hands at your products or services can have it exchanged for reasonable items that they can offer in exchange. I see this as a win- win situation because one goods or products can be so valuable to other that you might find their items on the same level of value.

In this world of technology, services and goods come by so fast. Sometimes we don't have any ideas how to dispose items or turn it to more meaningful value. We often sell it to a lower price because we felt it is the best way to get rid of it. What most of us haven't consider is to try to be more creative in getting the value of the products that you have. BARTERING is the new way to do it. It is a great way to put value on what you have...

I have seen this new great site called MyFreeTradeZone, where you can barter your goods with other people. I believe that this can revolutionize the things that you have at home or business. They have range of categories where you can put your products and services. They have no fees and their site is very simple to use.

Think of the great opportunities putting all your stocked items in this site and suddenly someone likes to barter one of the items that you have listed. The value you can get in the exchange transaction is limitless...

I'm surely looking forward many would consider great opportunites in bartering and I hope many people consider this option instead of giving less value to the products or goods that they have.

Update for Smokers: Smoking Kills!

Everyday, I have a routine going to office. It's very simple yet I find it exhausting, boring and too routinary for an everyday living.
The list goes like this: Walk to a jeepney stop, Take a jeepney, walk towards rail train station, take a metro rail train, walk to the midst of the parking lot and walk till I arrive at the office. WHEW!!! It would took me an hour to arrive at the office but I may say I'm confident with my thoughts lingering or eyes closed that I can get to my destination without any worries.
This past few months, I've noticed a lot of things that's rapidly changing and effecting myself a lot which is slowly killing me and the reason behind it.... SMOKING!

More and more, I felt weak and dependent to the vice I got used to ever since I was 16 years old. I can say that over the past years it had destroyed me as a person, it had killed me not only physically (internal/ external) but emotionally and it may sound weird but I am the different person who’s so good and healthy to myself..

SOME TRUTHS ABOUT SMOKING!

Cigarette, cigar, and pipe-smoking are so debilitating that the immediate cessation of the habit is always the first step of any program to improve one's health - even more important than vitamins, diet, or exercise.

International studies of millions of people by government, industry, universities, and private research institutions have determined that smoking can cause:

1. Stained teeth, fingers, and hair;
2. Increased frequency of colds, particularly chest colds and bronchitis;
asthma; neuralgia; gastrointestinal difficulties, constipation, diarrhea, and colitis;
headaches; nausea or even convulsions.
3. Leukoflakia (smoker's patch);
4. Insomnia
5. Heart murmur
6. Buerger's disease (inflammation of blood vessel linings);
7. shortness of breath;
8. arthritis;
9. smoker's hack;
10. nervousness;
11. wrinkles and premature aging;
12. Tension; gastric, duodenal, and peptic ulcers; lung cancer
13. Cancer of the lip, tongue, pharynx, larynx, and bladder; emphysema;
14. High blood pressure;
15. Heart disease; artherosclerosis & arteriosclerosis (thickening and loss of
. elasticity of the blood vessels with lessened blood flow);
16. inflammation of the sinus passages;
17. tobacco angina (nicotine angina pectoris);
18. pneumonia;
19. influenza;
20. pulmonary tuberculosis;
21. tobacco amblyopia;
22. impared hearing;
23. decreased sexual activity;
WORST-
àand mental depression.

Blood flow to the extremities is decreased (cold hands and feet). One puff lowers the temperature in the fingertips 1ºF to 3ºF in 3 minutes.

Nicotine affects the nerve-muscle junctions, causing tremors and shaking. Nicotine causes narrowing and constriction of the arteries, adding to the heart's load. Nicotine, through its ability to stimulate, causes excitement and anxiety. But the effect wears off, often a period of depression follows, whereupon another cigarette is taken. Nicotine, an insecticide, makes the blood more viscous and decreases the available oxygen. It also adversely affects the breathing, sweating, intestinal, and heart actions of our autonomic nervous system, probably due to hindering the blood flow to the nerve centers in the brain.

Two to four cigarettes in a row increase blood fats 200 to 400%. The average smoker (30 cigerettes per day) has 4 to 6 times the chance of having heart disease if he's in the 45-54 year age group.

If the mother smoked during pregnancy, her baby will average 6 ounces less and its pulse will be 30% faster than a non-smoker's baby, and there'll be withdrawal symptoms in the baby after birth. Premature birth has been related to smoking by the mother. There is a direct link between parents' smoking and children's respiratory disease.

Smoking causes widespread permanent destruction of the tiny air sacs (alveoli) and narrowing of small blood vessels in the lungs, decreasing the oxygen supply, requiring a higher blood pressure, thus causing extensive circulatory problems and premature heart attacks. Smokers have difficulty running and exercising.

The cilia are tiny, delicate, hairlike coverings on the thin membrane of the surface of the lungs and trachea that, by means of their whipping, beating action, produce an upward current of foreign material and mucus from the lungs which is then swallowed or expectorated. This is the way the body cleans the lungs. This delicate lung-cleaning mechanism, in a cigarette smoker, at first paralyzes, then deteriorates, and is eventually made inoperative, through the complete destruction of the cilia. The smoker then must resort to coughing as a lung-cleaning method. This isn't efficient, and more than a cupful of tars will have accumulated in his lungs by the time of his premature death.

Air pollution (auto exhausts, industry wastes, etc.) increases the lung cancer rate of the smoker, but not of the non-smoker. Apparently, the lung-cleaning cilia are alive and working for the non-smoker.

The time to recover from any specific ill, whether caused by smoking or not, is much longer for the smoker. Often, a non-smoker will survive a sickness from which he would have died had he smoked.

By dying earlier, the smoker will lose many tens of thousands of dollars in social security and other benefits which will naturally end up in the pockets of the non-smoker. The cigarette tax is more money from the smoker to the non-smoker.

The smoker is sick more often, explaining why he misses an average of 7½ work days per year, usually with a loss of pay, while the non-smoker will miss only 4½ days.

The smoker must spend valuable time looking for ashtrays, cigarettes, matches, retail stores, vending machines, or change for these machines. He experiences displeasure if they aren't immediately at hand. Just the process of deciding on "which brand" wastes vast amounts of mental, physical, and financial resources.

Just the extra medical expenses alone can be expected to eventually use up all of a smoker's hard-earned savings, already depleted by the high cost of smoking. By the time non-smokers get sick, Medicare will foot their medical bills.

The smoker's body requires more sleep every night. This extra sleep must come from his spare time. Besides needing more sleep, smokers don't sleep as well.

Smoking destroys vitamins, particularly vitamin C and the B's. Smoking has induced cancer in dogs. Insurance rates can be higher for smokers. Some 100,000 doctors stop smoking every year.

Foods will taste much better to non-smokers. Many subtle flavors and aromas will be savored if your nasal and oral senses are freed of the effects of harsh chemicals, coal tars, and other combustion products.

Other disadvantages of smoking: You must always carry cigarettes and matches; your pockets bulge - or there's less space in your purse; smelly breath; smelly house; smelly clothes; messy rugs and furniture, often burned; cigarettes lying around for kids to smoke (and matches to light); you're a bad influence on kids; you're held in low esteem by your kids and your friends (even your smoking friends); the inside of your home and auto windows need cleaning more often; death or property loss due to smoking in bed.

Some 120 persons have died in two airline crashes that have been attributed to ashtray and lighter-fluid fires. Cigarette smoke collects with lint and is known to gum up delicate mechanisms such as aircraft controls.

Smokers get into more auto accidents due to being less alert, having slower reflexes, and also due to fussing around while driving (lighting up, etc.). In Czechoslovakia it's illegal to smoke while driving. Accident-proneness has been related to smoking.

A non-smoker would have to put on an additional 150 pounds in order to increase his mortality rate to that of an average smoker.

The fact that the tobacco industry provides work, that wouldn't exist without it, is a myth. The money now wasted on tobacco, if diverted elsewhere, would create a wealth of new job openings in industries producing goods and services more useful to the society than cigarettes.

Smoking makes a person irritable and argumentative, partially due to a subconscious knowledge of all of the above facts. Smoking has been related to brain damage and premature senility.

A smoker needs much more food and sleep since nicotine makes his body work harder and less efficiently and his heart beat faster, thus using more fuel and energy. This, together with the fact that a smoker loses much of his appetite and his taste for food, explains why smokers have less trouble keeping their weight down. When one quits smoking, it's IMPERATIVE that the intake of food is drastically reduced in order to keep the body weight normal. Having to eat less is of course an additional saving of time and money.

Wouldn't it be nice if everyone quit smoking? There'd be less general litter, no more butts, ashes, or wrappers in the streets, grass, urinals, etc.; no more smoke in restaurants, theaters, airplanes or buses; a more alert society, with more spare time to enjoy or improve their lot in life; fewer auto, plane, on-the-job, and household accidents; fewer forest fires; less air pollution; lower auto and life insurance rates; and fewer people coughing and spitting in public. By inflicting smoke on your non-smoking friends, it's been shown that even THEIR health and life expectancy are adversely affected.
